If you are a person who is so concern about your appearance, what can be worse than waking up early in the morning to discover you have acne on your face? Acne is unpleasant and it leads to distress both mentally and emotionally, especially to teenagers. The good news is most people will not have these pimples following them for the rest of their lives as when they reach around 20 years old, this problem will be resolved. The bad news, however, is that the acne scars may not be gone and stay as reminders of the pain in the past. These scars are a problem as they took away the smooth and clear skin which a young person supposed to have.

Having acne scars on the face is in fact a problem, but it is definitely not a permanent one. It is still possible to have them removed if you know how to go about doing it.

There are basically two ways of removing those ugly acne scars.

One of the ways is the laser resurfacing. It is less costly as the whole process can be done in the office of your dermatologist without the trouble of hospitalization. Top layer of the face skin will be removed by laser, leaving the middle layer skin to be tightened. Pain will be reduced by using a local anesthetic during the procedure. It would usually take a few treatments to obtain the required result and it may take the skin several days to heal after a laser resurfacing procedure.

“Dermabraion” is the other way if treating the acne scars. Instead of using laser, the top layer of the skin is removed by a rotating wire brush. Naturally, after the layer of skin is removed, new skin will be produced. The new skin will be smoother than the older skin which has been removed. Depending on individuals, dermabrasion will take 10 or even more days to heal. Similar to the formal way, dermabrasion will required several treatments so as to achieve the desired result.

With contemporary medical science, ugly acne scars are not permanent residents on your face anymore. You are only required to do more research of the two ways to see which actually suit you more. Invest some time and money into it and you will get yourself a smoother face which can also boost up your self-esteem.
